Position: Gardener and Cleaner
Location: U.S. Embassy, Kathmandu, Nepal
The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Gardener and Cleaner. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Embassy team and contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of our diplomatic facilities.
Responsibilities:
As a Gardener and Cleaner, you will be responsible for:
Gardener:
- Maintaining the Embassy’s outdoor spaces, including lawns, gardens, and landscapes.
- Planting, cultivating, and pruning trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Watering plants and ensuring proper irrigation systems are functioning.
- Using appropriate gardening equipment and tools to maintain the grounds.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Embassy premises.
Cleaner:
- Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness in various areas of the Embassy, including offices, public spaces, restrooms, and common areas.
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting as needed.
- Emptying trash bins and disposing of waste properly.
- Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Assisting with special cleaning tasks and events as required.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in gardening and/or cleaning roles is preferred.
- Ability to operate and maintain gardening equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and attractive environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic communication skills in English.
